KAROUB REPORT – SEPTEMBER 2026
09/17/26 - Police Officers Labor Council
About a third of Michigan’s legislative districts are worth watching this November as the map for those districts has changed. While certain districts may be known to vote a certain way based on reputation, this year they are less stable. In 2021, after the last census, Michigan redrew its political boundaries. In the past, the Legislature determined changes to these boundaries. |

Update: Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II
09/17/26 - Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO I want to talk about the Republican assault on Congressman Emanuel Cleaver. It's abundantly clear this attack has created total chaos for Missouri voters, and I've been hard-pressed to answer one simple question: why did Republicans target Congressman Cleaver in their redistricting plan? All for the sake of one more Republican vote. |

Project Labor Agreements
09/16/26 - Teamsters Local 404 Project Labor Agreements (PLA) are coming to this area worth hundreds of millions of dollars. We are looking for more owner/operator truckers who want to work for the Teamsters Local 404 on these jobs. Massachusetts Governor has passed legislation on Project Labor Agreements for State construction. Union labor reduces the cost of the project and the work is done an average of 4% faster than non-union jobs. Our Union work is highly skilled, second to none, and there is inclusivity for minorities, women, and veterans to be a vital part of these projects. If you are an owner/operator and interested, please call the Local Union Hall at (413) 781-6326. |

The Road to a Fair Union Contract
09/16/26 - Washington Federation of State Employees Local 313
If you’ve been keeping track of our work to set the stage for this round of negotiations, you know that our members have done exactly what we needed to do over the last year to prevent backsliding and put ourselves in a position to push forward at the table rather than have to claw our way back.
We stopped the legislature from canceling out our raises and jacking up our healthcare premiums in 2025.
We made history and passed the Millionaires Tax, brightening a dim budget outlook with the promise of billions in funding for WFSE members' jobs beginning in 2029.
We are currently in the midst on contract negotiations for the 2027-29 contract. If you would like to learn more about the contract process, follow the link in the image. |

Trump-aligned Kennedy Center board votes to close institution immediately for renovations, source says
09/16/26 - International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 13 The Trump-aligned Kennedy Center board voted to immediately close the institution for renovations, a source familiar with the vote said, after President Trump and his allies on the board repeatedly warned of financial and physical ruin for the center if no action is taken. For more than a year, the president has pushed for the center to be overhauled and for its performing arts programming to be shaken up — and his administration has pushed to add his name to the building. |
